Live Online Class Setup Instructions

Our online live classes are delivered via Google Hangouts Meet.

Here is your guide to get setup for live online classes:

Joining A Meet Call

Tablet/Phone

  1. Open Hangouts Meet app
  2. Login with your google account (if not already logged in)
  3. Enter the meeting code you were sent. This will be made available via a PT Minder, in the class notes.
  4. Click join.

Laptop/Computer

  1. Ensure mic and camera are working/connected
  2. open your browser
  3. Enter the meet URL into the browser address bar. This will be made available via a PT Minder, in the class details.
  4. Here you will then either login with your google account, OR if your don’t have one, just type your full name in the name field. Then click to join.

Hangouts Meet Setup Requirements

Broadband internet connection is required.

Tablet or Phone:

  1. Forward (screen Side) facing camera
  2. A built in microphone and speaker or bluetooth headset with microphone
  3. A google account – Instructions
  4. Hangouts Meet App Installed – Android | iTunes. Ensure app has permission to access the mic and camera (should be prompted for permissions on opening the app, if it currently doesn’t have permission)

Laptop/Computer:

  1. Webcamera
  2. A built in microphone and speaker or bluetooth headset with microphone
  3. Compatible Web browser – see supported browsers

Workout Requirements

  • Appropriate exercise clothes & Footwear
  • Exercise mat
  • Water bottle
  • Space for mat and around the mat for you to move 1 – 2 m around the outside of your mat should be clear of obstructions.
  • In order for me to see you throughout the workout and give you technique guidance, you will need to position the camera where I can see you. You will be able to tell on your own screen before joining the call if I can see you.
  • I suggest placing the screen in the position I would normally be in when demonstrating exercise during class, i.e. in front of you. You don’t want to be straining your neck trying to see me do the exercises.
  • Exercise equipment:
    • mini resistance loop bands – see kmart pack
    • long resistance loop bands (these can be used as loop bands as well) – light to medium – see kmart light band
      medium band
    • 2 – 4 kg dumbbells (can substitute heavy household items like bags of rice, canned vegetables. Just ensure they are sealed, not easily broken and can be comfortably and securely gripped throughout movement) – see kmart weights
    • Skipping rope (optional) – see kmart
